Nova Mikołowska is a modern residential and service complex located in the block formed by Mikołowska, Raciborska, and Strzelecka streets in central Katowice. The development consists of two buildings with varied forms, integrated into the city’s historic fabric and complementing the street frontages. The outer façades are finished with dark clinker brick, referencing the colors of neighboring tenement houses, while the courtyard sides feature light plaster to enhance natural lighting. Inside the complex, two publicly accessible courtyards and a green alley with seating and a playground have been designed. The buildings feature varied heights and window rhythms, with upper sections set back and accented by openwork structures. The entire project was designed to integrate with its surroundings and create a friendly urban space, with ground-floor retail units and extensive recreational and green infrastructure. Nova Mikołowska is an example of contemporary architecture harmoniously embedded in the historical context of Katowice’s city center, with attention to detail, functionality, and the quality of shared spaces.
