Pałac Popielów is a historic townhouse with a palatial character, located in the heart of Kraków’s Old Town at 20 Św. Jana Street, just 160 meters from the Main Market Square. The building was created in the 18th century by merging and redeveloping two medieval townhouses for the Cistercian Abbey of Jędrzejów, based on a design by Franciszek Placidi. Its façade is distinguished by a unique late Baroque elevation and an impressive portal with atlantes, the Sulima coat of arms, and sculptural decoration. The interiors retain historic features such as a grand staircase with wrought iron balustrade, stucco decorations, and Rococo elements. The palace was a renowned meeting place for Kraków’s intellectual elite-Paweł Popiel hosted a famous salon here, and the building once housed the collections of the Kraków Scientific Society. Today, it offers approximately 920 sqm of office space across four floors and remains one of the city’s most important examples of palatial architecture.
