About Rynek Główny 31

Rynek Główny 31, known as the Tenczerowska Townhouse, is a historic building situated in a prestigious location on Kraków’s Main Market Square. The townhouse dates back to the Middle Ages, with the first records from 1311, when it belonged to the Tenczer furrier family. Over the centuries, the building underwent numerous reconstructions; its current form results from a 1938 redesign in a classicizing modernist style. The four-storey brick building features a two-axis façade facing the Market Square and a seven-axis façade on Szewska Street, with monumental pilasters, a high plinth, and flat elevations finished with artificial stone. The property is listed as a historic monument and is under conservation protection.
